. Text: John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
In the world today, there are a lot of problems. There are family problems; health problems; financial problems; marital problems. There are also general societal problems: wars; insecurity; economical etc that bedevil nations. The BIBLE-the word of God- predicts clearly that a lot of problems and calamities will befall the world as the last days approaches-. 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Matthew 24:6-7 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places
One may ask, why all these problems and calamities? The Bible answers: (1) Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity(sin) shall abound; (2) 2 Timothy 3:2-5 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof....
But another question remains, Is there no way of escape from these calamities since the WORD of GOD can not fail to be fulfilled? If there is what can one do to escape these inevitable disasters that are here with us and increasing greatly at the dawn of each new day? Thanks be to God for his loving kindness. His WORD has provided us with a way of escape-Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: But who is this LORD, what is his Name? 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 says; For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. So the name to call upon is JESUS- He is the ONLY Savior of the WORLD!
The onus therefore is for us to cry to HIM for pardon if we do not want to be part of the terrible happenings in these last days.We should call upon the Lord in REPENTANCE so he will pardon us from our sins and give us the power to live HOLY lives. The Bible says-1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Every man and woman, boy or girl from every nation and tribe and tongue must repent to escape from the wrath to come.
